Congratulations go to Kay Raseroka, the Library Director of a GAELIC member institution, the University of Botswana who is to receive honorary degree from the University of Alberta. Read more >>>
Kay served as the first African president of IFLA. She founded Botswana’s Children’s Information Trust, and she has devoted more than 35 years to promoting the importance of oral learning in indigenous communities.

The University of South Africa’s (Unisa) Department of Information Science hosted an alumni    lunch in Pretoria on Thursday 25 March 2010 to honour the Department’s Alumnus of the Year     for 2009 – Mrs Denise Nicholson, Wits Copyright Services Librarian, who obtained her      HDipLIS at Unisa and a BA with two WIPO/UNISA Copyright modules.

Congratulations to the staff of the GAELIC Libraries who were selected to attend the 2nd Carnegie Library Leadership Academy (CLLA). David Mahlangu (UP: Merensky Library), Khomotso Maphopha (UniLim), Annah Matodzi (UniVen),  Tebogo Mogakane (UP: Merensky Library), Mercy Mokgele (Unisa: Polokwane),  Jacob Mothutsi (UP:  Mamelodi Branch Library), Nkisheng Mphahlele (TUT) Violet Nemalili (UniVen), and Suzy Nyakale (UP:  Medical Library).  Well done to all!
